These pieces are a search for form and meaning in chaos. Each piece starts life as an incidental work of art. After minutes, hours, or sometimes months, the focal point of the work emerges and treatments are added to enhance the vision.
All pieces in this series are considered incidental art and are formed by either rapid vertical strokes with putty knives ranging from 1 to 4 inches, or slapping the canvas with the putty knives.
Similar to the Subliminal Expressionism pieces, these works are created by placing a canvas over a randomly painted surface then pressing the paint into the canvas with a marble-weighted roller. Some pieces are complimented with washes to enhance to results while others are left as-is.
These pieces were created not long after Antalytical. I worked through a few paintings and just wasn't feeling comfortable with the brush so I used my hands (the only exception being Fire which was finished with a brush). The feeling was really liberating and served as a nice transition into the next phase of my work.
This is currently the only piece completed in a series of eleven.
The Analytical series is an abstracted view of modern life as it pertains to your common worker ant... with teeth.
At this point in time these pieces are uncategorized even though quite a few of them belong together.
This ongoing series involves repurposing diverse objects which would otherwise be discarded in an effort to reveal one or more messages shared by the objects as a collective.
